LASER CUT MILD STEEL

We have the ability to LASER CUT MILD STEEL Sheet metal
in thicknesses between 0.7mm and 25mm.

Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon. The carbon provides extra strength and fracture resistance in comparison to pure iron. These characteristics, coupled with its comparatively low cost make it popular in uses relating to construction, infrastructure, tools, transport, and general engineering.

Mild Steel has a carbon content of between 0.16% and 0.29%. This gives it a higher melting point, relative to higher carbon steel. The higher melting point makes mild steel more ductile meaning that is particularly suitable for drilling, welding, forging, cutting, and is easy to fabricate.

We laser cut mild steel in these grades

Cold Rolled, often referred to as Cold Reduced or simply CR, refers to the method of processing used to create these sheets. Using this method results in a smoother surface and a fine finish. This makes it a good painting surface. Cold rolling material also improves the tolerances of the sheet metal.

The more exact tolerances combined with the good surface finish makes CR4 steel ideal for projects where precision and quality are essential.  Some typical uses for CR4 laser cut components include: interior and exterior automobile parts; appliance parts including highly formable parts; parts requiring good dent resistance; computer-cabinet hardware; metal furniture; and light industrial applications, amongst many more.

Stocked Thickness Availability: 0.9mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm.

S275JR is a hot-rolled, unalloyed, low carbon mild steel grade. The low carbon content reduces the effects of heat treatment, making S275JR easily machinable, weldable and formable. These properties make S275JR a good fit for many general steel projects.

“S” denotes that it is a structural steel, “275” represents the average minimum yield of 275 N/mm² for the material, and “JR” signifies the material toughness. S275JR is a very popular low carbon steel grade, and S275JR laser cut components are suitable for many general engineering and structural applications.

S275JR between the thicknesses of 4mm – 10mm are Pickled & Oiled. Our stocked S275JR in 12mm – 20mm is dry plate. We cut all parts in the gauges 6mm and below with nitrogen, giving you a clean oxide-free finish.

Stocked Thickness Availability:

Pickled & Oiled: 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm.

Dry Plate: 12mm, 15mm, 20mm.

S355JR is a hot-rolled, unalloyed grade of structural steel. “S” denotes that it is a structural steel, “355” represents the average minimum yield of 355 N/mm² for the material, and “JR” signifies the material toughness.

S355JR laser cut components have a wide range of applications in construction and structural fabrication. Typical uses include automotive parts, pressure vessels and lifting equipment.

We have S355JR readily available to us in dry plate from 12mm, 15mm and 25mm.

DD11 is a very low carbon, hot rolled steel. The material has good welding qualities and is ideal for general forming applications. DD11 offers close thickness tolerances similar to cold-rolled strip, optimum surface finishes and consistent material properties over the entire sheet length and width.

Applications of DD11 laser cut components include: Automotive components, domestic appliance components, and furniture.
